I don’t know why I can obsess over some little things yet let some big things go, but this is the third try on making our front window look festive. I tried clear balls with mistletoe on them, hanging from gingham ribbons. I tried colored balls hanging on fish wire. I couldn’t even leave them up for a day…they just weren’t right. I wanted something more organic and less sparkly and had almost given in to just having clear lights around the frame when I went into True Blue Art to look at their beautiful handmade papers. It didn’t take long to pick out the two subtle ones that now hang in strips, sewn through punched holes at the top with sparkly neutral colored yarn from Earth Guild. I got to have just what I wanted in addition to buying from two local business neighbors in downtown Asheville. A sweet girl named Anna, who works at True Blue, offered to put this together for me and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I can now rest easy and get my mind on more important things, but just for awhile, this consumed my attention and I feel great relief and pride in the simplicity our window evokes…sometimes the little things can say a lot…Happy Holidays to everyone…Betsy
Fashion on Friday
- Lace, Leather and Yarn
- Trina looking great in her !iT jeggings, Bailey top and Michael Stars scarf
Jen and I thought it would be a good idea to photograph some outfits that show different ways to put clothes together for a fresh look. This week, we have a lace dress paired with a leather jacket and scarf on our outside girlikin and she is getting lots of attention. Also today, a favorite customer and friend, Trina, is wearing her black !iT jeggings with a Bailey 44 Top and Michael Stars knit scarf for color and coziness. Looking good Trina!
Our New Website Is Almost Done!
Well, I’ve been circling this thing long enough and have decided now is the time for my first blog entry. With the new format of our website being WordPress, we can easily update the latest news from f r o c k, as well as post new photos. So, while I’d love to be clever and witty like so many blogs I read daily, I am just going for the bare essentials this time. (Hopefully, I will have more to tell in future entrys) There is even a way to include music on here, but I’ll see how this goes first. Eventually, whatever I put here goes on our Facebook and Twitter pages, so Facebook will still be a major vehicle for contacting us. Until next time…Betsy
